What? Mickey more likely than Nez?

He doesn’t go anywhere these days without his funky ass fedora.
His family should arrange an intervention.

Jones - Often sings the corniest songs, but is the least annoying, and defined the group, the feeling, the era; you can make all the smug jokes you want, but without the cute straight man, you don't have a show.

Dolenz - There's no denying the voice this guy had.

Tork and Nesmith - Tork is mostly bland, not at all what I had hoped from the "real musician" in the group but alas it's true. In contrast to Jones, Nesmith (I refuse to call him "Papa Nez") often wrote and sang the best songs for the group, but he could be so much of what we would now call a hipster, knowing just when to not be interested in something, when to act a certain way -- he could be kind of dick really -- that he kind of defines the smug side of the emerging '60s counterculture. He wasn't funny because he didn't actually like anything. Kudos to him for engineering the break from the stifling Kirshner, but he's annoying as well.
