Re: Alone Again Or vs. Alone Again (Naturally)
All of a sudden, it occurs to me that German 60s beat bands were more fun than the Krautrock stuff of the 70s!

And that's not a criticism - it's just that it might be interesting if, now and again, you'd express an idiosyncratic opinion. I dunno, like 'I really can't get with Neil Young's voice', or 'German 60s beat bands were more fun than the Krautrock stuff of the 70s'.
Yeah, but I don't mind Neil Young's voice - and I wouldn't know German '60s beat bands if you introduced me to those guys at a pub.
I'm not gonna lie to adapt an 'idiosyncratic pose' just to please you and Moddie - both of you two also have extremely predictable taste as well by the way. I hope you guys aren't excluding yourselves from that accusation. The trouble with discussing music with the same people for fifteen years is that we all know what the other is thinking with regards to music most of the time.
If I preferred Marilyn Manson's version of "Golden Years" to Bowie's and proudly proclaimed it to the world on BCB, you wouldn't hesitate to call me out on my buffoonery. So I'll do the same with anyone who rates David Cassidy's version of a classic Rascals song to the real thing - merely because it was more successful in the UK. Talk about a provincial mindset...

The JBs never covered Love...
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Another vote for Love then.

Very much so.
AA(N) sounds pretty corny to me. I confuse it with Seasons in the Sun.

Really captures the desolatation that the original only hinted at.

Er no. Do you really think I care which country it was a hit in when I was six years old! I prefer it because I think it's a better production and arrangement. But of course it's entirely possible that had I grown up with The Rascals song I'd prefer that..but I'll never know.

I don’t think the reasons matter. The lapse in taste is what it is.

Of course.
And if you think that you're displaying some kind of individual taste in choosing the song which was the hit in your country, start a poll of the two songs and see if almost everyone who votes for the Cassidy rendition doesn't come from Britain.

You've entirely missed my point. I wasn't asking for your opinion on those two things. I couldn't care less what you think about Neil Young or German 60s beat bands. They were just examples given to clarify my point. Except they didn't. Clarify, that is.

Not at all. I'd say the accusation is especially true for myself.
But again, you're missing the point.
Never mind. Off you go.
