My computer speakers at work are shit, especially so for bass, but I'm a sucker for that flat-wound-strings-played-with-a-plectrum sound. I think the playing on 'The Old Man...' knocks it out of the park.

Yeah, it's one of my favourite things in music and the late 60s/ early 70s is especially great for it.

The funny thing is the identity of the player has never been found out. Lots of speculation..but no one knows for sure. It's odd it's never come out really.

People say him because he's one of the more famous session guys, but it could be four or five guys.

This is pretty simple, I guess, but I love it (the walking bassline, though the solo's OK, too)
