Prog Synch Listen: In Memoriam: Molly Hatchet - Friday 16th February @ 9pm
Lizzy Borden may have taken an axe, but I'm a Hatchet man myself:
Please do join us next week. Bounty Hunters, Creepers, Cheatin' Women and Old Friends are welcome.
There's a gator in the bushes. He's callin' your name.
P.S. I have just learned today that both Dave Hlubek (lead guitar, main songwriter) and Banner Thomas (bass) both passed away last year. Five of the six guys on this album have now passed away. So we'll do this one as a tip of the hat to those who aren't with us anymore.

For Dave Hlubek, who has a solo writing credit on this one, which to me is right up there with Green Grass and High Tides and Free Bird:

I was quite upset to find out that Dave Hlubek passed away last September. He's criminally underrated. Wrote "Fall Of The Peacemakers", music and lyrics, by himself. This alone puts him in the southern rock hall of fame.

Cheers to you and yours, J/J.
Molly Hatchet is kind of a crankier, harder version of Skynyrd. The only heavier southern rock band I'm aware of than MH is Blackfoot. But there are melodic things going on as well, I hope you enjoy this.
