The Dexy's version of Jackie Wilson Said, which I have to say is better than the miserable bastard's original anyway.

After knowing To Love Somebody for years, I heard The Bee Gees' version for the first time yesterday.

I did too
But just to add symmetry, I don't care which I hear, as I like them equally
The Rolling Stones Complete Mp3 set now available in the usual place, should you want one.

They're actually very similar, I just dislike Kevin Rowland's vocals

I know, it's hard to believe the Michael Bolton version isn't the original, he just so totally inhabits it.

Joni's lyrics never made sense to me. Why would you want to turn the bird around if it's fixin' to land?

In timeless moments we live forever

You can't play a tune on an absolute

When the ball sleeps it dreams it is a Frisbee

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the law, love under will

The first version I heard of this was the Dictators. In their version, they namecheck Santa Rosa for some reason, which isn't on the coast, but a ways inland. I thought, "Well, they're from New York, they probably don't know at just picked a name off a map." The more I thought about it though, it bugged me because they're are tons of California beach towns with San or Santa in their names and thought they could've done their research better.

But then again, they were the Dictators.

I've grown to love the original.

Yesterday I heard “All I Really wanna do” by Sonny & Cher. I’m sure this is the first version I heard of that song. Why else would I love it so much?

The first time I head Can't Get to Losing You was the English Beat. Since then I've heard the Andy Williams version, but the Beat's version is the one I hear in my head.
