Re: Vinyl Only N.P.
Played Fly Like An Eagle yesterday, would have made a great double album with this as they were all recorded together.

The holy trinity ........
The first 3 Discharge EP's, here we could say is the birth of hardcore - primitive - but what a noise, record levels set to stun, no fucking about. The singles sound better than the CD versions, they've got more bottom end on them which 'Realities ... ' certainly needs. The Apocalypse tour, splendid times.

The NEMS version, reissued in 1976.
Seeing the unboxing video of the super deluxe on SDE prompted a play.

I'll have to crack out the first 4 EP's shortly, definitely the most juvenile records I own - but somehow so right. Every punk band I played in at school pilfered songs off those singles to get started. Seminal.
This morning we are going against the sage advice of my dad, being a Naval-type and pretty wise at-that, he would often say - Son, never stick your head in a jet engine -I would follow that advice to the best of my abilities, until this came along ....
How immense is this ? Everything on this record is primitive and done to the max, D-Beat in spades, distorted guitar, double-tracked short-sharp-Sabbath-inspired guitar solos, guttural vocals and some decent lyrical sentiment if you talk stokeontrent. It doesn't let up from start to finish, 15 minutes of all-out intensity. I've got an original pressing that seems equally as bombproof as the music and shifts air like a champ.
