I love the second part of Eyes Of A Child, Justin gets to rock out a bit again.

RT really added a lightness of touch to their stuff. It's twee - lots of their stuff is - but in a really amiable way. I think the music hall influence is the difference - everyone else's songs seem more serious somehow.

Very 60's soundtrack sounding in a rather delightful manner.

That's the vibe I'm getting. A definite immersive experience - a long soak in the tub.

Now this is Pinder at his very best.

I love him for this alone.

Just a perfect song. So fragile.

It reminds me of something from my childhood...and it’s not good.

These aren’t great Pinder songs, but Man, when he was great...

Is it the bluesey-ness, or the Euro-ness, or ... ? I really like both of Pinder's songs, and that one in particular. An extreme worldweariness, completely empty but at peace with it. That's the feeling I get.

Hayward's two songs are both great (though perhaps not as great as "You Can Never Go Home" from EGBDF).

There was a program in the UK, called a The Black &White Minstrel Show.

My Mum loved it, I hated it.

That’s where that awful chord is from. I’m scarred, I tell you. :)

:D

BTW, is it a particular chord you're referring to? Sounds like you might be reacting to some of the more old-fashioned chords in the sequence. It's kind of an orchestrated blues semi Gershwin feeling.

I have made the journey Mike...and it’s been a long one.

But I don’t think it’s a joke: no, not at all.
