Bad behaviour by musicians

Postby Thang-y » 11 Dec 2017, 18:41

and do they get away with it?

Josh Homme of QOTSA kicks a female photographer in the head. He apologises and says "I was a total dick".

Is that OK?

Other examples of musicians being properly out of order, and was it forgotten/forgiven?

Josh's behaviour is inexcusable by the way, before "The Dick" butts in.

And I'd sure like to be her attorney.

It's an interesting relationship between musicians, athletes and their fans. Some seem to care about them and some seem like they don't give a shit.

...and sometimes they just get a little "tired and emotional". Like when Peter Buck had a mini-rampage in first class, throwing yoghurt around and shouting at the airline staff. He blamed it on a sleeping pill and got off. I was curious about this story because it seemed so unlike him.

I think sports stars and famous musicians live in a stunted adolescence sometimes with a sense of entitlement. But the public doesn't help with this, looking the other way lots of time or letting 'em slide because of their fame.

Not that what I'm writing is a revelation.

I don't think the public do let them away with this anymore. If Peter Buck threw the yoghurt now and not 15 years ago, someone would have filmed it on their iPhone and the resulting footage would have damned him, in the media if not the courtroom (but maybe the latter too).

I'm as uncomfortable with celebs being tried by the court of public opinion as I am discomforted with their sense of entitlement but that's a bigger topic in the year of #metoo etc.

the jury cleared him of a charge of being drunk on an aircraft last April, two counts of common assault, and one charge of damaging BA crockery.

Clearly, Peter Buck needs some rock and roll bad behavior tutorials.

You should listen to the Moth episode with the play director who basically caused all this. Its hilarious.
