Would have been nice to have a general Free thread - we don’t talk about them much.

Can’t be arsed with this bollocks.

That's my contribution to any thread about Free :D

That's because they are the dullest snoozefest since time began.

We won't notice if they never get mentioned even once more for the rest of time, honest.

If someone doesn't start a ranking thread with "Uptown Top Ranking" and "Ranking Full Stop" soon, I'll lose all faith in this site's capacity for better copycat threads.

Tons of Sobs?
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Highway - easily my favourite, in my top LPs of all time list. A step away from their bluesy origins, inspired iirc by The Band, and full of summery songs.

Free - the second album and next in my list. A terrific set of home made blues.

Fire and Water - All Right Now but the other songs seem underwritten.

Tons Of Sobs - I haven't spent as much time with this as others.

Heartbreaker - same here really. A shame that after the relative failure of Highway they retreated somewhat into the hard rock/blues scene.

Free At Last - not Free without Koss.

You started this ranking bollocks!

And you can have a general discussion here about the band if you want. What did you want to say?

Oh, you did have it on the list. Overlooked it for some reason.

Anyhoo, this is how I rate the ones I have:

Fire and Water
Tons of Sobs
Best of Free
Live
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
