C, another aside, but I am ashamed to say that I heard Mr. Zappa's "Disco Boy" for the first time this week and I was absolutely bowled over. Another twisted work of genius. My Zappa education continues.
Pontificating incorrigibly since birth.

reap?

Done and done. I'm also going to insert the new Strawbs album, The Ferryman's Curse as it is astonishing and astounding.
So for the next few weeks....
Big Country
Back Door - debut
Strawbs - The Ferryman's Curse
Home Service - Alright Jack
It's good to have a plan.
good man
Strawbs - the eighth greatest band that ever walked the planet.
They still sound superb live. 9i haven't heard this album yet but will rectify)
pb and I saw them live twice over the last 5 or 6 years.
One time was a shared billing with Curved Air, Stackridge and somebody else who i have forgotten....
.
i love the new strawbs album. seriously. one of those tracks made me cry. it doesn't happen all that often with new albums these days.

I was thinking this was a live album of what would have been previously unreleased songs - do all of them come from studio albums?

Lemmy is groovin' much more than I associate with him.
Seem to be somewhat fixated on the word groove in connection to this listen. It just is, isn't it.

It seems to hang together as a piece rather than separate songs.

C, I do not exaggerate when I say the new Strawbs is one of their best. It is at least Top 5 for me. Several songs on it are among their best ever. It is absolutely phenomenal. Gorgeous acoustic guitars, penetrating electric guitars, beautiful keys, Dave Cousins in superb voice, great songwriting. Astonishing stuff, and I hope they make several more before they are done.
Pontificating incorrigibly since birth.

Exactly. It is a whole work of art and should not be split into individual pieces.

Is it the 'full' Strawbs (drummer etc) or the Acoustic Strawbs?
