C, I do not exaggerate when I say the new Strawbs is one of their best. It is at least Top 5 for me. Several songs on it are among their best ever. It is absolutely phenomenal. Gorgeous acoustic guitars, penetrating electric guitars, beautiful keys, Dave Cousins in superb voice, great songwriting. Astonishing stuff, and I hope they make several more before they are done.

Thanks reap - great to hear- I will play it tomorrow

Is it the 'full' Strawbs (drummer etc) or the Acoustic Strawbs?

.

Full Strawbs - acoustics, electrics and drums abound!

This must be fun to play.

I know I've read Lemmy's autobiography & either another members or a bio of the band - am I right in thinking they swung between being great mates and major fallouts?

Just thinking I'd have loved to be cooking like they are.

Nope, Dave Bainbridge on keyboards. I don't detect a drop in quality, though.

Nik Turner and Dave Brock never got on.

Hence much later the Hawkwind/Hawklords split

Lemmy and the rest of the band had a pretty major falling out over his bogus drugs bust at the Canadian border / his firing from the band as a result. However, they made their peace later on and Lemmy played with them several times much later on for reunion shows, etc.

Lemmy retaliated for his firing by engaging in conjugal relations with as many of the band members' girlfriends as he could immediately after he was let go. Orgone accumulator indeed. :D
