Just discovered these guys and gal online. Only one BCB reference here and it's a glower from Six String in Now Playing. What a band! What songs! Super prolific! Americana, Grunge, Young-y, Richmond Fontain-y, Any other fans?

I remember hearing a record of them in the 90s and loving it, can't recall the name. For some reason I never explored any further. I'd love to get some recommendations.

I think the world of them. Nighttown is one of the great noir albums.

This is a cracker. A great one to accompany a late night glass of single malt.

I appreciate that they recorded their own version of Nilsson’s Pussycats album. That got me to listen a little deeper than I otherwise would have. That was several years ago though, and I can’t say that I’ve listened much since. I do recall liking a respectable amount of what I heard.

I still follow hem with their doomy, dusty art school rock and two great singers that have been known to go solo from time to time.
I believe Travels in the Dustland is their latest official album up to now.
If you like one of heir catalogue you can easily get the others, there will be no great unpleasant surprises.

Love them to bits, especially when they're adding strings to the mix.

I knew Felix would be along soon. He introduced me to the band, so thanks again for that. I'm still a fan. :D

I could've sworn I contributed to this thread but apparently not, oh well...
Love these guys - Devil's Road is one of my favourite albums of the 90s, has a real countrified Fleetwood Mac vibe with some gorgeous production. Was very sorry to hear they disbanded last year - I saw their Chris+Carla guise but never the full Walkabouts team.

Was listening to their 'Satisfied Mind' covers album the other night. Such a great record. Brilliant versions of Nick Cave's Loom Of The Land and John Cale's Buffalo Ballet as well as Robert Forster's The River People. They put out a lot of great albums back in the day. Deserved more success.

Indeed, very good covers band. They've done a few Townes covers that are great.
