five self-titled debut albums
Just one! One's all you get!
Bonus question - would you choose the same album if the poll was about your favourite cover?

*Sniff* *Sniff*...Chose The Smiths...Ramones would rank third or Fourth on this list (Smiths, Clash, Ramones, Stooges, Doors)

The Doors, and yes *
(* it's a close call, tbh, but the iconography is about the only thing I like about the Smiths)

The Doors and no.
I think that cover is dumb - the way Densmore is almost stuck in Morrison’s eye.
I love the Doors but I always thought the way Elektra handled Jim’s image was pretty “Tiger Beat”
I think the only thing that could have improved “the Ramones” cover would have been if it had been drawn by Jack Davis with flies and stink lines around them.

Same here. But i'm still not happy just having one choice.

Cooler than Ramones?? Man, i don't know about that.
By the way, on a totally unrelated topic, when's the last time you had your eyes checked?

The Doors - but the Stooges cover is probably my favorite.

It's tight between The Stooges and Ramones for me, and I plumped for the former. I don't like any of the album covers.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

That Ramones cover is cool too, but it's kind of obviously iconic.
The Stooges one has a touch of strange too - the dog collar, the dumb faces, that fabulous Elektra logo. And it's brown. And there's all that space. The back cover is almost as great. I remember the first time I saw it - I think I gasped. It's probably my favourite cover of all.

It is a great cover plus it also has one of the coolest band logos ever.
Plus that Elektra logo too. I think it's a very strong Image.

Doors
Clash
Stooges
I'd go with the Stooges cover too.
The Ramones one has never thrilled me despite it being one of the iconic rock n roll images. I just find it drab.
