Blimey, perhaps I should revise my opinion on that Richard Dawson album, it must be much less interesting than I thought.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

(If I understand you correctly, that is - and I think I do.)
On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

People really love LCD Soundsystem, don't they?

Yep. I do. Not crazy about what I've heard of the new album mind you.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

There's an interview with James Murphy and he talks a bit about Bowie and how enthusiastic he was about everything. It's quite sweet.

I have Sound of Silver but never quite understood the enthusiasm.

I don't mind that All My Friends song. I can understand why people relate but musically I don't think it's strong.

I liked the first LCD album a lot but it was downhill from there.

LCD Soundsystem, The National, St Vincent are the only ones I have knowingly heard their songs. The rest, ??????
If Radiohead were to quit tomorrow, the national would be my new favorite band.

1. LCD Soundsystem
2. The War On Drugs
7. The National
8. Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile
9. St Vincent

These are the only ones I've heard. The war on Drugs is the best of these but all are pretty good, the National are getting better and loved their live show this summer. The Courtney/Kurt album sounds nice but the live show was boring.

In regards to LCD - I've always been surprised how big they got. Remember the first time I saw them at an NYU party. They brought this energy to the crowd I really didn't get but liked it. Seeing them open for the Rapture a few months later and I was hooked. While I like the early stuff more its their live show that has blossomed. Saw them earlier this year great show.

1. LCD Soundsystem - Probably should hear. Probably won't bother.
2. The War On Drugs - Need to hear.
3. Kendrick Lamar - Disappointing and his weakest release yet.
4. The Weather Station - Who?
5. Joan Shelley - Who?
6. Richard Dawson - Brilliant, and album of the year for me.
7. The National - Not The Boxer, but still very good nonetheless.
8. Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile - Not really interested.
9. St Vincent - Strange Mercy was a great. Might as well check out her new one.
10. Hurray for the Riff Raff - Not really interested.

Yeah, me either. The Kendrick Lamar and National albums are good. I've listened to parts of all the others, but they didn't grab me that much.

But then again, I don't give albums nearly as much time as I probably should to see if they'll grow on me.
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!
