Actually I think there are a fair few voters who are under 40, which means we can certainly remember being teens and twentysomethings when most of this stuff came out.

Yes! I love it when Dylan appears above Dizzy Rascal in a poll...but twice!
Just wait until Christmas in the Heart pops up at number 4.

Why didn't I vote for that Jon Hopkins album? What a twat. That Angels of Light album is an all time great, too, there won't be much better in this list (given that Coil haven't yet appeared).
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Very pleased about my choices appearing here. I also love Donuts, and I really need to hear more Angels of Light.

Re: BCB's Top 100 Albums of the 21st Century - Halfway there!
Yes, some good choices in that last batch! And finally something from my list that made the grade.
I love that War On Drugs-album, that rich and sprawling Americana-sound with added ambient padding really accompanied me on a lot of travel. Jon Hopkins was my favorite album of 2013 and it still gets a fair bit of airplay in my home. That whole glitchtronica-scene in that time could have made up myn list too- Olafur Arnalds, the whole of the Erased Tapes-catalogue, really great, immersive stuff.
Other albums that really i could have gone for fortunately made it too- the J. Dilla, Grandaddy and Broadcast-albums are great! I went for the 'other' Julia Holter-album and hope that that one will still appear in this list. I always undervalued the Angels Of Light-albums a bit simply because I though Michael Gira's voice sounded so unbearably light- I love that rich baritone he had in his drinking days with Swans. Don't think I ever heard that GOAT-album.

Excellent selections this time around! I still need to hear that Julia Holter album, though.

I found it a bit underwhelming. Anytime Boots is as catchy a song as I've ever heard, but the rest is a bit lacking.

Re: BCB's Top 100 Albums of the 21st Century - Halfway there!
It's interesting how much the points allocation has affected the standings of the albums, because the vast majority have received three votes. That said, I'm pleased the Sleater Kinney made the list- it might not be their best, but it's certainly their most cacophonous . I saw them live around the time of its release and few bands have been louder and tighter. Good to see the J Dilla and the Grandaddy too.
Regarding Dizzee Rascal, I liked the album at the time and even saw him live twice, but I can't say I return to it often- it's too melodically unforgiving. For me, the best or at least the most exciting British rap LP of the noughties is Skinnyman's Council Estate of Mind. Which is loud, angry and full of massive beats and detailed lyrics.

It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

I thought the track 'Sea Called Me' posted was fantastic. I'd never heard of her before. Exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for -strong song, evocative & haunting production, clever instrumentation (love the way the sax came in from nowhere) -but have largely failed to find. I'm really tempted to buy the album now.

There's one I voted that I know at least ONE other person voted for, that I hope is very high...

What have you heard so far? I highly recommend How I Loved You as an album starting point.

I just found out a fellow Third Wave Ska survivor is in that band! I knew him when he was in Skavoovie.
Happy (3rd Wave Ska) Veterans Day, everybody!

List is looking good so far- must mean Richard Hawley, Megson, Steve Tilston & Emily Smith will be taking up huge amounts of the top 50 - probably the entire top 20!

Only took half the list to get to ONE from my Top 40...(Broadcast- Tender Buttons)...Sleater-Kinney might make the Top 50...

Somewhat nil, which is weird when I've got all the latest Swans stuff. Thanks for the recommendation.
