The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream - Beautiful album love them live
Goat - World Music - interesting mix of influences never heard them before
J Dilla - Donuts - okay not for me
Broadcast - Tender Buttons - Love this album too - 30 wasn't enough
The Angels of Light - Everything Is Good Here/Please Come Home - Uh this is Michael Gira been meaning to dip into this, thanks!
Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker - Ah went with another Ry Ry album - easy could have been this one
Brian Wilson - Smile - pass
Sleater-Kinney - The Woods - They are 90's love for me, The woods is a good album but not in my top 40. Loved those live shows in support of The Woods.
Julia Holter - Have You in My Wilderness - nice stuff
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump- nice album close to 100 for me.
Jon Hopkins - Immunity = thought there would be some of this in the list - never heard it before but nothing against it
Half Man Half Biscuit - Cammell Laird Social Club - funny never heard
Bob Dylan - Love and Theft - I would take this over Modern Times but neither made my list.

I know but you would expect more than 2 people on a popular music board to like and enjoy the defining British album of this millennium

But it appears me and Jumper K are the only people on this board who aren’t disgusting muso bores who think Dylan is still releasing good albums

Give me a break you voted for Belle and Sebastian, OK Go Team! and Morrissey. Just because you listed Dizzee Rascal makes you relevant than anyone else here?

Yes I think that is what I said

This was on my original list as well, but I much prefer to watch them perform than listen to the albums.

Quite enjoying exploring the one's I've not listened to before. Haven't really discovered anything mindblowing yet... the Springsteen album is possibly the dullest thing I've ever listened to :(

Agreed... maybe... but Roots Manuva's Run Come Save Me , despite being painfully obvious, is likely to snatch it for me. Both missed my top 30 on this occasion but on any other day...

Today’s set posted.

Not sure I will have time to post any tomorrow as I’m out in the evening. Can you hold on until Tuesday for the top 40?

Let’s hope for more U.K. Grime albums, that genre’s format of choice of course.

I must admit that I finally listened to that Gillian Welch album having long written it off as "not my kind of thing" and I did enjoy it. I listened to another of hers and thought it was really good, more so than Revelator in fact.

Not my Nick Cave of choice for the period, but there is still hope in the top 40....Like that Deerhunter...Fever might sneak into the Top 50...

^^ that was down to 72. Since then another three of mine - the War on Drugs, Fever Ray, The Lyre of Orpheus... - made the list. On other choices, I'd have sworn I had The Queen Of Denmark in my list and I can nod a head toward certain choices - J Dilla, Broadcast, Heartbreaker, PJ Harvey and I really need to revisit the Julia Holter - but the list as a whole is getting pretty heavy going.

I was listening to Queen of Denmark the other day. Can't believe I missed him off my list. I've had several artists in the top 50 ..... Deerhunter, Grizzly Bear, Phoenix, Black Keys byt chose different albums by them. I prefer my choices ;)However, they all might be in the top 10! Or not !!

I should listen to that Antlers album again later; heard bits of it when it came out, but they didn't click with me at the time.

I am honestly surprised to not see it much higher. As I am to see Gillian Welch so high.

Hospice is a great record. Anthemic yet intimate, haunted yet cathartic with moments of real grandeur but also subtle beauty. Unlike a lot of records I've heard over this period it actually manages to be incredibly moving and powerful, a real complete statement. It's reduced me to tears on a number of occasions.

Comfortably top 5 for me.
