...pretty sure that's right. Just finished my first term at University so its a fairly evocative time for me. Was also just about getting to the end of my interest in what was in the pop charts as well.

the masked man and Rayge are correct.
Penk is not.

1975 - Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas
1984 - Wham! - Last Christmas
1987 - The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York
1994 - Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You
2003 - The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)

A clue for 1994's topper:

Chucking up a baked potato can be dangerous.

I know I should know his name, but can't come up with it...

Mike Love?

Cheers Pete -

in honest: it was nothing more than an educated guess. I knew that several BBs individually sang backing vocals on Californian AOR hits.

Here's my entry: what do the following albums have in common?

Ry Cooder: Ry Cooder

Allen Toussaint: Southern Nights

Prince & The Revolution: Purple Rain

Deep Purple: Stormbringer

The Electric Prunes: Underground

Van Morrison: Astral Weeks

?
