BCB's Top 100 Albums of the 21st Century - lists to Penk!

Postby PENK » 11 Oct 2017, 09:48

OK, I'll take care of this then.

Choose 30 albums released 1 January 2000 or later. You have 150 points to share out between these albums as you see fit. PM me your list. Albums will be ranked based on the number of votes first, then the number of points. So feel free to give 121 points to Chinese Democracy and 1 point to everything else, but it'll still finish behind an album that got 1 point each from 2 voters.
If I receive a list of 30 albums with no points allocated, I will just give every album 5 points.

One or two people have commented that they might not even know as many as 30 albums they like from the time period. If not, please try to enter anyway. Send a list of 20 albums with 100 points split between them. Or even 10 albums with a 50-point pot.

Live albums are fine. Re-releases no. Compilations no. If there is any doubt about anything, it's my call.

I will at some point set a deadline for entries.

Please take part and encourage others to do so. The more who vote, the more representative and interesting our list will be.

I'd be very interested to see if we can find much consensus. Things feel so splintered these days.
Anyway, I'm in, sane or not.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

:)

Actually I could probably put together a list of 20 without repeating an artist.

It tends to be TRACKS these days tho' doesn't it?

I think we need to ban Lord Rother from voting.

"and in at number 19, Dr Herfuffles Victorian Circus volume 1 by Big Big Train...."

All the more reason for as many others as possible to vote...!

I'll post up some ground rules and a deadline later.

That's hilarious because as we all know, volume two is easily twice as robust!

Twice as robust!

How about since 2001, when the century started... :)

I'd be hard pressed to come up with more than a couple of dozen, so probably would not join in

Not sure if you are talking to me or penk, but if the former, because that's a couple of dozen albums this century that I know of, rather than ones I would vote for.

I'd join in, because I don't think my taste gets enough of a kicking every single day on here.
