No. Their best probably is Dark Side of the Moon, for all that it's been played to death and everyone is sick to death of it. WYWH is about 3/4 as good.

I agree. I just thought I'd put it out there.

Top 4, though, definitely. Alongside Meddle and Animals.

Atom Heart Mother
......?

.

It’s definitely up there.

Probably Piper at 5.

The Final Reunion. Short, but very sweet.

There is definitely something that happens when you get all (or in some cases, nearly all) the original members back together. I don't think it's entirely nostalgia. It's more like seeing your dead parents, whom you have had to get along without for years, alive again and having fun together one last time. It's tied in with our memories, but it's something like feeling that the world is right again.

Very well put. That's exactly how I felt that night.

Out of the mainstream ‘classic’ rock bands, Pink Floyd are easily my favorite, and have some outstanding albums, such as, Animals, Meddle, and The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I also really like Ummagumma and A Saucerful of Secrets. So, definitely a yes from me.

How would you rank the albums? Dark Side 1st?

While Dark Side has certainly grown on me over the years, it’s not near my favorite Pink Floyd album. I’d rank my top 5 something like:

1. Meddle
2. Animals
3. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
4. A Saucerful of Secrets
5. Ummagumma

How about you?

Dark Side, is a hugely important album to me in my life and along with Sgt. Pepper, my all time favourite album. So:

1. Dark Side Of The Moon.
2. Wish You Were Here.
3. Meddle.
4. Animals.
5. Atom Heart Mother.

I must try to listen to Dark Side and Wish You again

I tried the former a couple of years ago and only lasted about 10 minutes

I see the simpletons have gone quiet, nothing since Saturday. Short attention spans I suppose.

A comp with just non-LP cuts would be swell too. Not quite Relics, but close. Try:

Arnold Layne
Candy & a Currant Bun
See Emily Play
Apples & Oranges
Paint Box
It Would be So Nice
Julia Dream
Point Me at the Sky
Careful with that Axe, Eugene
Embryo
Biding my Time

The Wall
Obscured By Clouds
A Saucerful of Secrets

love them all though and the gap between top and bottom is not that great

Ummagumma remains the one that divides, doesn't it?

Yes, very nice Comp. I made a double comp once, which included Lucy Leave, Sceam, Vegeteble Man and Heartbeat Pigmeat.

Your comp, is strong and to the point, though.

I think it’s one of those albums where you probably had to be there at the time.

My older brother had a copy from new, so I was always immersed in it.

I was 9 going on 10 when I first heard this in 1967 and it was simply thrilling.

We still lived in a very brown decor dominated country, but my imagination, at least, was very colourful.
