RIP Billy Roberts

The writer of "Hey Joe." A friend of mine had kept in touch with him and word is spreading over Facebook, though it hasn't hit any official channels yet. Might not for a while as most people, sadly, don't know who he is.

Follow-up - according to my friend, there's a stipulation in his will that there be no major media announcement. Here is the obit:

Apparently it was his wish that no more be made of it. As a result, no mention of his death on Wikipedia, or in fact anywhere 'official' I can find other than the above.

Interesting article about the history of "Hey Joe."

i guess it's not even that clear that Roberts wrote it.
