I have been utterly obsessed with these songs since I first heard them about a year ago.
I sort of thought it would fit in some sort of imaginary brain pile of folksy under-produced songs, that seems pretty nice when you hear them for being innocuous enough, but just wouldnt rate over time.
And honestly I don't even why it captures so much of my mind
They have the same sort of romanticism of Rodriguez' unrealised potential...
Or maybe a half-decent female singer songwriter is just such a rarity she really stands out.

I downloaded How Sad, How Lovely a couple of years ago. I think the songs are a little too on the twee side for me, she makes Vashti Bunyan sound like Diamanda Galas, but there's definitely something there.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.
