The Eyes - When The Night Falls
I think it is all kinds of wonderful. So much of what was good about '65.
What do you think?

Re: The Eyes - When The Night Falls
Don't remember this from the time, which is mildly surprising to me at least, because 1965 was peak listening for me. The 'psychedelics' – or well moody guitar solo as the nomenclature was at the time – and the harp are both rather nice, and kind of ahead of their time - in fact, before the latter came in, I could imagine this as the slow one on a John's Children album. Song isn't too shabby either.

Good to great. 'You're Too Much' was even better.

It's funny because if I had to pick just one Eyes track I'd go for "I'm Rowed Out", which just goes to show how good their singles were ( even though there were only 4 I think!). Each one captured the moment perfectly. I love pretty much everything they did. It's not music you can analyse with any great insight, it's just there and perfect in its way.

I'm not surprised as their records did nothing chart wise. I don't know if they'd have got much play on the pirates. They were fixtures on London club scene for a while, so I'd imagine that's where people might have encountered them.

Their singles will occasionally pop up on 60's Mod or R&B comps, but even now they seem to get little exposure, sadly.

They're crying out to be used on a "cool" film soundtrack aren't they? I guess it'll happen at some point.

For sure.
They're crying out to get even a bit of attention on BCB, ffs - only 6 votes so far.

That's it, yeah.
We need limited edition 27 disc boxed sets before artists are worthy of discussion on YY.

Yes, yes, yes!
I think the rule is for it to be followed by Grounded by The Syn ...

And then 'Created By Clive' - which version?
