Re: Morrissey v Rod Stewart
'Maggie May' is better than anything The Smiths put out. And if I was having a dinner party tonight then Rod would be my choice of guest. Mozz probably wouldn't come anyway.
But The Smiths were always a much more interesting band than The Faces, even tho' I probably prefer Rod's voice overall.
Abstain. For now.

Talk about contrast.
Rod's best is just brimming with life. I'll take any random track off of his first five albums over
any of Morrissey dour little songs.

just realized this charming man and stay with me are in same key "A" and similarly paced (apart from the latter's elongated middle section)

Re: Morrissey v Rod Stewart
Rod Stewart is a Londoner who chooses to support Scotland. For that alone he is damned.
As for the music, I liked Morrissey in the Smiths and Rod for the Jeff Beck Group (never rated Steampacket) and for putting out halfway decent solo stuff in the early 1970s (especially the Vertigo albums), surely the worst era for pop music in my lifetime.
Another factor is that I get the impression that Moz has read the odd book.

Stewart means nothing to me. Just another faux Scotch twat.
Morrissey has sung on some records that have meant a lot to me

The Smiths over Rod by a million miles, but Rod over Mozz solo.
