20 is a nice number.
I'll give it another day and call it then.

I've sent my list. Nine songs from Ian McShane's From Both Sides Now.

Dreamy.

Could've been worse, could've been Brian Ferry covering an Ian McShane original.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

You may scoff but you'll be laughing on the other side of your face when this one beats you in the final.

I have followed three criteria
- Original versions should be from the R&R era and later - thus avoiding discussions about who recorded first a traditional blues or a Cole Porter standard
- No jazz - arguable, I know, but for me this is out of the scope of this cup
- Original versions are songs that I do like - I might vote for good versions of crap songs, but I preferred to use covers that bring additional values to a good song, even if it is just a giggle.
Nobody's ferpect.

My criteria: six turds that only I will like and three that you lot will. Again.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

it's nine songs, right?
Formatting preference?

never mind, I looked at old cup lists
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I'm in. My only criteria was they all had to be piccolo instrumentals.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Take it this is head to head tracks format with the YouTube link set to play?

I'm going for a dangerous cocktail of the painfully obvious and the offensively bad.
