Re: Gram Parsons poll
I also voted for GP. I think Grievous Angel has a few better songs, but GP is better overall. Sweetheart and Burrito's 1st could get my vote any day too.
Nobody's ferpect.

Just not the ersatz wank that Parsons made.
I hate him.

All varying shades of wonderful.

I am with The Slider on this. I don'te hate Parsons, I suppose, as he doesn't really impinge on my consciousness all that much, but I do think his music is corny, hackneyed bobbins.

On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

It is, except the inclusion of that remixed version of Return of the Grievous Angel, lacking the last repetition of the chorus, is a BIG mistake.

So do I, but Gram + Emmylou is a thing of wonder approaching No Other.
On his own, though, or in the Byrds or Burritos, he slips back into the swirling mob of Not Bad
Edit: Which means I voted for Grievous Angel.

Re: Gram Parsons poll
The Gilded Palace of Sin is the best, but followed up closely by Grievous Angel. Nice to see some Gram Parsons threads on the board.

I picked Grievous Angel but it's virtually a toss-up between that and Gilded Palace.

Re: Gram Parsons poll
Hard to pick one, but I went with 'Grievous Angel.' I'd pick most of the choices there over 'Sweetheart,' actually.

Re: Gram Parsons poll
Surprised you guys like Grievous Angel more than GP. Both are great, of course, but I prefer the latter.

Re: Gram Parsons poll
"Fuckin' Hippie," but Safe at Home has "Blue Eyes" on it, and "Gilded Palace" is pretty damned good.
