Time for a bump given the praise being lavished on the far inferior Hollies.

Well I'm wrong and right!
The Hollies have a much deeper catalogue, but other than 'King Midus in Reverse', nothing really gives me as much pleasure as the four tracks I've posted here. I wasn't that impressed by the tracks posted on the other thread, but there may be some nuggets I haven't heard. I find them a little wishy-washy and bland.

Did you guys talk about their (surprisingly good) 79-80 power pop records on Sire?

Yeah, that was one we discussed.

those four tracks are great. "Needles & Pins" is forgiven but I guess I'm still sort of a dick.

Re: Digging The Searchers
I've been a big fan for as long as I can remember, and am good mates with their current drummer, Scott Ottaway. They retire on March 31st next year, after 60 years in the business, albeit with a few personnel changes along the way. Surviving original members, Frank Allen and John McNally are fucking legends. I've got tickets to see them 3 days before their farewell gig and am so excited, it will be a night of mixed emotions.
They've been part of the soundtrack to my life for over 50 years. Love them dearly.

You see, there are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. Indeed that's what we provide in our own modest, humble, insignificant... oh, fuck it.
