I've always considered Tuxedomoon one of the giants of post-punk, and that the revival would have been so much more interesting if the revivalists had looked to copy them as well as Joy Division. As far as I'm aware, they're only band ever to have reformed and kept the same level of quality as in their heyday. They were just about to embark on a new album and tour, too.

Tuxedomoon's Peter Principle, RIP
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Awfully sad. He's a friend of friends and I met him a few times - very nice guy.
I'm not too familiar with the music, apart from some old Ralph Records compilations and some newer, unclassifiable live performance stuff.

Saw them a few times in the city. Very interesting live. I was at this Friday show.
And this one.
And this one.

Only had Desire and an obscure cassette only track Shelved Dreams. SD is fantastic. Desire more idiosyncratic, will dig them both out today.

Agreed with what you say, Fish. Utterly monumental band. R.I.P.
