A chance to buy Stage again and again. Magic.

I'm sure there'll be an outtakes box further down the line.

"The live album Stage (which was issued in 1978 between Heroes and Lodger) is included here in both the original version (exclusively on yellow vinyl in the LP box) and the 2005 reissue; the latter restored the original running order and added some bonus tracks. In fact. two more (previously unreleased) bonus tracks are added to the version in this new box set – The Jean Genie and Suffragette City – taking the track count to 22."

Anyhow, let's hope for some proper remastering! The first box was a mixed bag, some good, some horrible! And the RCA cd's are to expensive and hard to find...so one can hope!

...yet, everything's the way i had hoped for: monsters included, baal, too. somewhere people had speculated about the inclusion of low remixed which would have been interesting. still: this ist the perfect collection (under the rules set by the two previous ones). wouldn't want to be the person at the label who has to market the n e x t box, though.

Well, at least it includes Scary Monsters and the excellent Baal ep. Basically there is no need to buy any more of these box sets even if they bother to cover the twilight years.
However there are a few minor gripes
Stage is complete BAR Rebel Rebel ... clearly there will be yet another version of Stage at some point.
There was a version of Sound and Vision played on this tour ( actually the concert I went to!) It was released in the mid 90's. It's shit and I can see why they have forgotten it.
No Revolutionary Song from the Just a Gigolo soundtrack.
Cat People is the 12" version ... no sign of the actual single version. Very odd when you consider the remit of these Re: Call discs.
And the remix of Lodger. Great, Visconti rectifies the mistakes of the original producer as he did with Stage ... the original producer of course being Visconti! Personally I think Lodger is fine as is and if it is as essential as The Gouster, not worth the effort.
So ... what will the next box set be called ... me I'd go for honesty "Time Will Crawl"

This would perfectly fill a Berlin shaped hole in my Bowie LP collection but I'll be damned if I'm paying for 13 damn records at once.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

As I have said elsewhere, this a jip. I got the Zeit set for £7.99. You can still get it for 14.99. It has Low , Heroes and Lodger and Stage. For 7.99. Nobody want Scary Monsters. It is an aberration. Nobody wants one version of Stage, let alone two versions. And if the remix of lodger is as good as Gouster, then it is a waste of time. The joy of Lodger is that fragile, edgy production. If you want these records buy Zeit. Don't feed the beast.

Reading how the remix of Lodger has beefed up the sound much to Carlos Alomar and Bowie's delight, I will probably succumb too.

I don't have any of the albums anyway so it's a nice way to get them. The first of the Bowie box sets is excellent. The second one not so much.

They're fine when someone else is paying for them and sharing them
But I'd not shell out my hard-earned for them

Surely they won't put out any more of these, will they?

I'd be surprised but If they do I won't be buying them as I have little interest in Bowie beyond scary monsters

I bet they do. The archive is a cash cow that will be milked for years to come. Also why wouldn't the next box set be released when it will features his most popular album? ... other than that it will have to feature two of his weakest albums as well!

They'll find some 'rare' concert footage or some daft 'rare' badge/poster to entice the dickheads

Or just some pointless audio exercise - new version of 'China Girl' remastered using 2.3 double quodphonics, that sort of thing. That always seems to pull them in!
