I got absolutely savaged for picking a Melt-Banana song in my first BCB Cup. Think it was "Lost Parts Stinging Me So Cold".
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I tried that one too, D_F, but didn't like it as much as drftin's choice.

If you could choose 5 other tracks today, what would they be?

not heavy metal enough for you John?

I could go into my singles box and pull out 5 really obscure own label punk singles from 1977/78, and be super hip. But this thread asks for favourites. If he had asked for records that made you look cool then I would have chosen differently.

They were the most unconvincing of the whole '77 lot. But I'll give it another go.

Less convincing than the Sex Pistols. You are having a giraffe.

Billy Broad was one the original Bromley contingent. as authentic a punk as you could wish for. And Tony James was pretty full on. Your Generation is more Ramones than Metallica. Maybe that is why you don't like it? :|

'authentic' maybe

but you could spray a poodle's hair green and it'd look more convincing

Restricting to 1st wave:

Jigsaw Feeling - Siouxie
stranded - Saints
Anarchy in the UK - Pistols
Bondage up yours - X ray specs
White Riot - Clash

But Alternative Ulster would smash them all
