Looks intriguing, but are there the 5 you'd want??

Looks like it's:

Joan Armatrading (1976)
Show Some Emotion (1977)
Me Myself I (1980)
Walk Under Ladders (1981)
The Key (1983)

I only have the Gold double cd collection. I've already bought the Parliament 5cd box. Been tempted by the Free 5cd (£9 in sainsburys but misses the debut, i want all their albums,) but could be tempted by this one by Joan.

I've no idea if these are her best ones either. I only have the self titled and a compilation both of which I like but never explored further.

For the price i'm more than willing to take the chance on these but always good to hear some recommendations for Joan's best records.

Anyone???

The 5 CD pack will give you albums 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9.

Whatever's for us (1972)
Back to the night (1975)
To the limit (1978)
Steppin' out (1979) the live album

and a one sided vinyl How Cruel (4 songs)

are missing.

I had all of these in the 70's except The Key but saw her live on that tour.

You can't really go wrong with what's on sale.

I only know her early radio stuff, and I had Walk Under Ladders. I think it's aged pretty well.
