'Band of Gold' and 'Spirit in the Sky' are absolute killers, two of the best singles ever released. They've never failed me.

I also went for 'ABC', 'Travelin' Band' and 'American Woman' - and nice to see you've posted the version of that last one without all the water-treading crap at the start. That riff is what you need and you don't want to have to wait for it!

I like 'Ball of Confusion' enough but don't think it needs my vote. The Tempts have always been big BCB favourites.

Yep, the riff to 'AW' is the key.

Wow! A poll where I have heard all the tracks, and actually have eight of them on singles or album. That doesn't happen very often.
While Traveling Band is my fave of CCR's three good tracks, I voted the straight Motown (and Invictus, which is nearly Motown) ticket.

I pretty much love all of them, but have a special fondness for that Tyrone Davis record.

Obviously not my era or style, if I'm listening to stuff from 1970, it's generally either folk or kraut. I still made use of my full 5 votes though, and went for the surprisingly pleasant R Dean Taylor, Temptations, Freda Payne, Guess Who and Norm.

Creedence, Tyrone, Guess Who, Greenbaum & J5.
Easiest choice yet.

'ABC' winning? It's not 'I Want You Back'!

Band Of Gold.

How could any sane man choose otherwise?

The rest dwindles into insignificance.

'Rock'?

Pah!
On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

Yeah.

Nice live clip of our favourite here. It really is a joy.

I think I like this one just as much:

I went for:

Ball of Confusion
It's a Shame
Turn Back the Hands of Time
Band of Gold
Spirit in the Sky

Can you tell I like the soul?

ABC is a runner-up, but suffers from overplay. Love "Indiana Wants Me" but I'm a little burned out on that too since we've talked about it so much. On a different day I could have gone Creedence as well.

Only one I really don't care for is "American Woman."

Good man, Baron; same for me.
There are a bunch of terrific records there, and at first sight 'TBTHoT' might seem to be fighting above its weight class. But whenever i listen to it, oh man, i'm convinced once again that it's one of the best soul singles of the period.
