I love the Germanic waltz feel and inevitability of the chords and melody. I love the journey of the thing, like walking though a house, 'there's more at the door', 'we need more room' etc. and the false endings. It doesn't rock or move, but it's an interesting song I've always liked, but I'm starting to find no one else does! They always cut it from the set live. I admit it wouldn't have been all that exciting. :)

Good man. I went on a Tommy kick about a month ago, and I couldn't believe how much it moved me.

When you and I first met, my old band had JUST done Tommy live. We'd talked about what - if anything - to cut, and "Welcome" was a rather unanimous pick. We did it, of course, but really had to dig in pretty hard to bring it to life. You can heavy up the "more at the door" repetitions pretty seriously if you're that way inclined.

Now there's one, mine. Then Cousin Kevin, Go To the Mirror, We're Not Gonna Take It and Sally Simpson. And I would gladly add four or five more.
Nobody's ferpect.
