I'd forgotten about your strange love for Smiley Smile.
I could have been Hitler in England. Wouldn't have been hard. It was awesome. Actually, I wonder … I think I might have been a bloody good Hitler. I'd be an excellent dictator. Very eccentric and quite mad. - David Bowie

Nothing strange about it. Taken on its own merit, it's a brilliant album. Some days I like it more than Pet Sounds, in fact. It's got to be the most 'reviewed not for what it is, but for what it isn't' album of all-time.

Will edit, thanks.

Today
Surfer Girl

the remainder

Some of my favorite music of all time, but they nearly always struggled with the very format that they briefly helped to perfect.

Because there were a number of different approaches they used, it's hard to say which is better, a great example of the early style (Summer Days) or a great example of the middle period (Surf's Up), etc. For my own clarification, I have grouped them in more general groupings. Thus some of the precise rankings within a group might vary on any given day! Everything in the first two categories makes me very happy.

P.S. They really had a thing for the letter "S", didn't they?

VERY, VERY GOOD
