And still he’s only got 11 fucking votes.

I own(ed) all of those except Bleed to Me, which I never heard (of) before, and really could have voted for any of them but in the end California had the best chant and perhaps the best sleeve (they had really good sleeves) and Too Drunk to Fuck, just ahead of Nazi Punks Fuck Off.
Not as keen on Holidays in Cambodia as some here, but it's certainly as much fun as Holidays in the Sun. Even the DK's best moments don't get close to the Pistol's first three singles, though, mainly because JL was a better vocalist and writer than JB.

Dead Kennedys were one of those bands where I heard so much about them and saw their album sleeves alot before I ever heard the music - I was convinced that they were going to be my favourite band from everything that I (didn't) hear. Then I heard the singing. Ugh. I do love Holiday in Cambodia but the rest does nothing for me.

Would have had the top 2, but wanted to get Nazi Punks... in. It's not their best song, but that was one hell of a sentiment to have – and put on record – in 1981. So I went for that and California Uber Alles.

Oh, yeah. Inspirational!

California Über Alles, Holiday in Cambodia and Halloween for me. Biafra wrote some memorable lyrics: I always liked “it’s the suede denim secret police, they’ve come for your uncool niece”. His voice too – that “bray”. Like a deranged Bryan Ferry. I don’t like Bleed for Me or Too Drunk to Fuck too much.

I don’t know if HiC is better than HitS … I certainly liked it more at the time.

The DKs were banned from several venues when they first toured the UK, on account of their name, which was held to be in bad taste (no-one seemed to worry too much about “Jello Biafra” though). The slogan on the tickets was Your Worst Fears Confirmed. And sure enough mine were, as the show was cancelled :-(

Definitely up there. I think that was the second single after Stealing Mail.

I probably would have voted for this third.

I remember when Jello Biafra ran for San Francisco mayor my senior year of high school. He came in third in an election that Dianne Feinstein, our longtime Senator, eventually won.

"Nazi Punks" and maybe "Kill the Poor" or "Holiday". Many great tunes, though I pretty much don't know anything after the second one.
