He apparently had a new album coming out this year:

Have to admit I didn't want to see him in concert, I was under the impression that for some time he'd been doing minimum time in gigs and phoning it in. But you can't really blame him.

Major contributor to the music we love. Very grateful.

My old mate Lou Martin (ex-Rory) toured with Chuck Berry.

Some interesting stories - perhaps not to be shared here.

RIP Johnny B Goode

At 8.08 he talks a bit about getting ripped off but right after that talks about who his influences were

He was 90. I think that's considered a pretty good run in anyone's book.

The band that played on most of that Chess stuff of the 1950s, with Johnny Johnson or Otis Spann on piano and Willie Dixon on bass was superlative.
His various boxed sets of this material are an absolute joy.
When I looked him up on iTunes to check titles, I found I have more than 7 gigabytes of this stuff, and you can dip in anywhere and find wonderful things

R.I.P. Chuck. Now playing Golden Decade Vol. 2 because it's the best option immediately at hand. Among other anomalies, "Let It Rock" is missing the lead guitar overdub. :x
