Re: A Rock and Roll Cup - any interest?
Good to see we're at a dozen people now - definitely a bit of interest. If we can get 16-18 people that would be fine.
I'll start a thread down in the BCB Other Cups section now with a couple of thoughts and some rules.

If I may make a suggestion, I'd say that, numbers allowing, three or four groups is better than two. Fewer rounds and not so long competition, so better to keep the excitement for a longer time.True that this cup will be less prone to long songs than prog or jazz.

Re: A Rock and Roll Cup - any interest?
Good to have you aboard again, P.
If we get 18 people, we could have 3 groups of 6. That makes for a shorter comp. with more bang, sure, but also means you can only choose 5 songs to play the others in your group. 5 songs is not a lot.

Not that I know the first thing about that stuff, but why not. I suspect Hipster Dawg will wipe the floor with me but no matter.

Re: A Rock and Roll Cup - any interest?
Can we get one more? 18 is a good number.
2 groups of 9 players - 8 songs each. A bye week somewhere in the group rounds for each person.

I'd say no, but on the pro side it would obviate my perverse desire to include Uriah Heep's rock 'n' roll medley in my list.
