10cc
Supertamp
Steely Dan

Doors
Queen
REM or U2

U2 are worse than REM, but are they as top?

The Beatles
The Fall
Bob Dylan

And I really hate the fucking Beatles at the moment because they have left me with no room to put the Velvet Underground up there as well.

Where they belong. :x
Where do they hide all the musicians?

Mr. C., it's mainly because I feel GF is highly, HIGHLY overrated. For me it's a (slightly below) average band with a few good (but not great or particularly memorable) tunes, that has obtained the status of a 'supergroup' because they played a lot and for a long time, used a lot of dope and did all of them things hippies tend to do, like say 'man' a lot. Had they stayed humble like the Eagles, I might have been less harsh

I like all three of those bands in small doses

I rate the first two B52 albums and a couple from The Smiths which become a bit samey

UB40 was my fave of the three - I love the first two albums and saw them live thrice

Still, each to his own lad

Back to the thread title. Jim-lad asks an odd question - pick a genre you don't like and select three from it!

But I don't think that was what the lad intended

So, I'll have a go [the three I listed which I don't get are far from terrible! {10cc, Supertramp and Steely Dan}

Okay:

Queen
Tiny Tim
Bon Jovi

You didn't pick a genre and picked what you think are the 3 worst in that genre, right? Tiny Tim is not exactly stadium rock. So good idea, bad execution. So here I go pick a style I like and then take out my rotten tomatoes. So let's say Jazz-Fusion, a genre I like. But there are a few bands of which I think they're shite at it and the worst culprits are:

Brand X (by a country mile; I've seen slabs of marble that have more rhythm)
The Rippingtons
Spyro Gyra

BCB has convinced me to reconsider my opinion.

Genesis
Frank Zappa
King Crimson

I could probably find odd tracks I like by all the bands I nominated but based on a large majority of what I've heard I'm sticking with my opinion of them as terrible :D

Excellent choices. However, there is one Genesis track I don't hate so, for my choices, I'll swap them out for the Grateful Dead.

Grateful Dead
Frank Zappa
King Crimson

Sadly, no room for Queen, U2, Yes, ELP, post-Syd Floyd, etc.
Bugger off.

None of the bands mentioned in this thread are terrible in reality - just those commenting don't like 'em.
