Pink Floyd (Post-Dark Side)
The Smiths
Generation X (or anything Billy Idol-related, but they're beloved here for some strange reason)
The answer hasn't changed the whole time I've been here!

Re: Top 3 acts you think are terrible
The Eagles
Tom Petty (Traveling Wilburys notwithstanding, though he's surely the weak link there)
(I can't think of a third right now, but I might later)
There are certainly acts that have made worse music or are worse human beings or whatever, but whoever they are/were, I have found them relatively easy to ignore/forget.
I hate The Eagles more and have hated them for longer than Tom Petty... but I can more or less understand why The Eagles were so huge, whereas I honestly don't know why Petty ever had, let alone continues to have, a thriving career. Petty's music is also unaccountably ubiquitous in my world in a way that The Eagles' hasn't been for a long time.

Good call on Tom Petty. He seems to have ridden off the coattails of other, heritage, artists and his own demeanour suggests that even he is bored by his own songs. He's got one of the reediest lead vocals ever, and a couple of tunes aside, seemingly unable to tell the difference between a melody and a dirge.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

Really? I've never seen a single positive BCB comment on Billy.

I'm not sure how much Beck you have heard Q (presumably enough to make an opinion) but I am pretty much in favour. Odelay and Sea Change will seal the deal for me on their own.
I don't understand blanket Radiohead dislike, especially when their work is so diverse. so I would have to hear a bit more about your specific beef.

Singling Generation X out is totally baffling. Mainly for this reason - you didn't care for the hits so you went to listen to the album? I mean for ficks sake.
Gen X had a limited timespan, they were always going g to be thus,- and you get what you pay for. They had a few immaculate tunes the. Everyone said bye bye. What did you want, a ducking operA?

They had, at best, two or three decent tunes. I will admit my abiding dislike for Mr. Movable Sneer might be coloring my reaction a bit, but there are Smiths tunes Morrissey can't ruin for me and Floyd tunes the whiny git can't. I realize Gen X's sample size is smaller, but I've heard it all, and the best I can do for even their very best is a shrug.
Maybe some day it'll hit me, but if it hasn't in 30+ years...
