http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/ ... magazines/

Might be a good way to get some of the better compilations for a good price though!

Might be worth it for the At The Beeb albums.
If they are £24.99 that's about half of what they are going for elsewhere.

While the possibility of getting Beatles vinyl on the cheap looks great, I think the problem here is that the mag will be heavily advertised for the first couple of weeks before vanishing off the newsstands. Ultimately, only the diehards who have ordered every issue will end up getting their hands on every vinyl album, Hope I am wrong as I would happily pick up a couple of Beatles albums on the off chance. The other question is are the albums going to come with the extras - the booklet in MMT, poster in the WA and assorted other give aways in SPLHCB - being obvious examples...

At the end of the day, how many silly partwork mags (think "Build a working scale model Formula One car in just 26 weeks!") are available on newsstands after the first one or two issues? At the end of the day, they're aimed at braindead punters who'll end up paying 26 x £9.99 to build a model they could buy down their local model shop/online for about £50.

Some of those models are over 100 issues!!

otherwise my thoughts too. I#d like nice new copies of the 62 - 66 and 67 -70 sets. And I could be tempted by some others, But the Apple re issues are now under £16 in most shops, so it not a great deal. The doubles and triples however are a good buy, if you can get your hands on them. I shall be watching the website to see what is due, and placing an order with my newsagent for the ones I want.

I'll try and get hold of The White Album again. The stupid cow let her blue biro drag all across the cover when I bought it in Smiths in 1981.

I haven't got Abbey Road so for £9.99 I'll give this a go.

Abbey Road pristine for a tenner is a good deal, and it does sound deep and clear.
I also picked up Kind of Blue when that came out on vinyl, and they are good quality, proper weight re-issues.

I got the vol.2 BBC Beatles set the other year when it went cheap on amazon. Id like the first but assuming will have to sign up and buy all. Might have a look at the order they're coming out. I might be interested in a few to complete the vinyl set.

Same from me!

The version of "Eight Days A Week" at the beginning of that is from young Billy Preston's fab LP Early Hits Of 1965.

He was a sharp one. He's already left the band at this point, but is perfectly willing to promote the product and he does quite a nimble job of talking around the fact that the group is (secretly) over.

Picked up Abbey Road in Tesco's today. WH Smith had sold them all, they're now onto Sgt Pepper but Tesco had 5 copies of AR left, some looking a tad battered but this one looked nice and my own vinyl copy was bought for me 30 years ago by my folks and fancy trying this new pressing out.

Does anyone know if you can pre-order specific albums? I assume not but worth asking.

Keep an eye on the web site for release dates, and then you can order specific issues at your newsagent.

That's what I am doing.
