I've never understood the point of The Guardian's music reviews. Given the extent to which film is taken seriously as an art form and discussed ad nauseum, it's bloody annoying how they treat music as cast-off of the fashion world. Reviews are 75 word slapdash dribblings from the banal Alex Petridis, largely based on how popular something is with media studies students.
