I like just about everything about The Undertones, but I have a special liking for the psych tinged pop towards the end. Such a shame they split when they did. Both of these are excellent.

Positive Touch is their killer. If I don’t hear Teenage Kicks ever again I’ll cope.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Re: three punk bands
my hand, of it's own volition, voted for Buzzcocks and I'm cool with that.
still, I'm surprised to see them sweeping up. I don't know the u.tones so well but the Damned ain't exactly chopped liver.

Our pals band played here last week and they did Teenage Kicks and I looked around to find nobody at all singing along. When we were talking about this later they said they played it for me in the knowledge I would be the only person who knew it, which really doesn't feel right. US punks, please explain yourselves!
I'm not exactly well-versed in UK punk, but I had never heard "Teenage Kicks" before we learned it for the Paris jolly-up. Read about it, sure, but not actually heard it.

Re: three punk bands
I voted Undertones because they had an innocence about them the other two lacked although all three bands wrote great pop music.
The Damned were always a bit too cartoon for me and Buzzcocks a bit too cool, The Undertones hit it just right.
Plus Wednesday Week is the best song that any of those three wrote.
I saw the Damned 3 years ago and they were still a brilliant live act about 30 years after the previous time I saw them.

My brain says The Buzzcocks, but my heart says The Undertones. How punk is that? : /
