Not on the list: Love Sculpture, NoMeansNo

Hendrix Experience the only one I feel completely comfortable voting for. And I guess Cream, but only for the studio stuff. Have to think about the 3rd, but it's not any of these. Nirvana and CSN have some great stuff and some crap, so maybe they're on the bubble. I've marked 'other' for now.

Bros had Ken and a cut-out paper mug courtesy of the Viz, which makes their existence more worthwhile than at least three bands on this list.

Practically word for word what I was gonna say.

Perhaps surprisingly, me too! EDIT: Actually, I guess I like ELP better than Nirvana, but anyway.

Oh, fuck!

Then again, they became a foursome, so maybe they're disqualified. At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

Another "other" for me would be Volcano Suns.

Is this LP worth buying (up to Weed Bus standard)?

OMG, I can't believe I forgot the Minutemen! They're my third pick (in fact, they're ahead of Cream).

Hendrix, CSN and -- certainly more than Cream -- Back Door. Mainly on the strength of Colin's bass.

Things that a fella can't forget...

Make it 3.

After some deliberation, I went with The Police. Lots of great material there.

Yep. Jack has become more and more of a hero to me as the years have gone on. I also like some of the stuff he did with Trower. His voice is wobbly but he's still there.

Neither Nirvana nor the Police ever recorded anything with the subtlety and beauty of this one by Emerson, Lake & Palmer:

I know I know, ELP were prone to grotesque excesses such as touring with a whole damn symphony orchestra, but they also produced some sublime works in the studio. I don't understand why ELP aren't getting more votes.

Well on the evidence of the clip you posted, I'd say it's perfectly understandable.

Cream .......could be magnificent, CSN .....just for the debut, Police .....a great singles band. Regarding ELP, we all know The Nice we're a hundred times better. Funny how Nirvana have fallen out of favour. Where they really just synonymous of their time?

I would say that The Jam are one of my top trios, probably in the top three.

The Nice were indeed great, though I liked them a better when they were a quartet. They lost it along the way...
