"Mother Nature's Son" is one of my favorites and I couldn't even vote for it. It came in sixth!

Dear Prudence
Happiness...
Revolution 1
Yer Blues
Sour Milk Sea

The last one is based more on the Jackie Lomax version (one of the best things ever on the Apple label) than the Fabs demo. But the Lomax track features 3/4 of the Beatles and it was allowed so I gave it a vote.

Uncle WANK wrote:'I Will' is basically Cliff Richard. Fucking godawful.

And 'Helter Skelter' is shit too.

You've got to be in the mood for "I Will" - but I'd much rather have it over "Why Don't We Do It" or Ringo's ditty (same side), any day of the week

"Helter Skelter" shouldn't work: the stiff, clodhopper drums stifle the track right from the start, but Lennon's frenetic plucked bass (plus the multi-tracked guitars, curious background noises and the ending) save the day.
Always wondered what Moonie, Bonzo, Mitchell (or even Charlie) could've done with it.
It's also well cushioned by the track sequencing - but (unlike "I Will") I'd never skip it on the iShuffle, nowadays.

Prudence
Tired
Yer
Long
Cry

I went with ones that have given me the most continual pleasure over the years. But on the whole I'm with Moddie. Anything taken away, even the lesser tracks, weaken it. It's of a piece.

I'm a bit the same. Voted for While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Glass Onion, Julia, I Will and Blackbird and then looked at the others and thought, well that's it. Not much more there.

I'm not sure why I'm surprised and delighted that 'Dear Prudence' is winning this thing. It's a mutha.
have you guys ("you lot") ever heard this excellent cover?

onion, prudence, blackbird, monkey, julia.

Love the Stairsteps' version of "Dear Prudence", Count.

I once saw Fats Domino do a version of "Everybody's Got Something To Hide".... brought the house down, it did.
You'd pay big bucks to know what you really think.

Wow, 'Prudence' has really run away with this one. A clear favourite for a large number of BCBers, and for me a perfect '2nd song'.
