Think I'll venture outside of the box for today and give this one a spin. Never gravitated to this one for some reason....

Acres Wild? What can I add? Well, after playing it, I went back to Mouse Police and played the whole album through. It's like fine wine. And I always listen out for the nakers.

I thought I'd post one of my favourite early Tull tracks and found that it isn't on YouTube with great sound so I uploaded the 2013 remix. 17 is proof that artists are not the best judges of their own work. One of my favourite b-sides of all time and best heard LOUD.

Usually when a video won't play in my country, I can easily find one that will. Not this time. :(

Yes, Anderson never liked it which I always found strange - he was reluctant/resistant to 'release' the full version for decades

A masterpiece.

I love it - one of Tull's greats

Meander, meander as long as you want!

A favourite of mine too.

The full length 17 is a great pick as well. I'd never heard it until I picked up the latest Steven Wilson remix version of Benefit.

Yes Ray, 17 in all its glory is superb

I have the original single somewhere - one of only three singles I bought in the period 1968 to 1971

Anyway, Benefit is undoubtedly one of the top Tull albums

You mention the Steve Wilson remix - for me this is a disaster - one of the joys of Benefit is the muddiness and almost claustrophobia in parts of the sound. The separation on some of the tracks is just too vast. Inside sounds horrible! [the percussion is in another town!]

Moving on, this is possibly my fave track from the aforementioned.

Yes, this is possibly my favourite track from the aforementioned

Thank you -- this is very helpful. I was thinking about getting that remix. I will proceed carefully.

'Disaster' may be a bit strong on my part but when I played it I was actually shocked at how 'different' it sounded - and not in a good way

Tooooooo much separation!

I ADORE THIS:

What a great album Warchild is!!

Wond'ring Again

No Witches Promise.

More importantly, no Teacher...?

Interestingly Teacher did not appear on the UK release of Benefit but the US version did.....

Yes, the US version did

"Witches Promise" was certainly a contender. Probably should have included it to add more color, but I decided to stick to the relationship/Jennie/family world mostly.

"Teacher" is alright.

Just a heads-up: Ive just been over on the SH Forums and somebody there has recently interviewed IA, who confirmed that Steven Wilson has just begun work on the Songs From The Wood Deluxe set. A shame he can't do Heavy Horses while he's at it.

Contemplating picking the new Steven Wilson-remix of this one but it has never been one of my favourites....

I know what you mean - but it does contain some excellent tracks: Quiz Kid, Taxi Grab and Salamander et al

There are two versions of the Steven Wilson mix (released 27th November in UK) - a one CD version with 5 live tracks and a massive 4 CD version

I will go for the former

Yes, I will go for the former
