There is also this really good Billy Gibbons interview from this past summer. The Hendrix stuff starts at about 33:00. There is a really good Jeff Beck story too.

Also, if you start a little earlier, you can hear Billy talk about the 60's Texas psychedelic scene including the 13th Floor Elevators. It's pretty great.

Seems like Hendrix fans could be in for a real treat...that "fabled" tribute to M.L.K has surfaced.
Yes,it has surfaced.

Fascinating. I hope all that stuff will see the light of day.

Yeah, preferably in my lifetime! (though I'm not holding my breath)

By the way, I found that clip title "Dylan and Joplin, the Director's Cut" rather misleading. And the so-called "unreleased footage" of Janis and Big Brother was used in the early '70s doc Janis... so, not so unreleased.

“Kenny Burrell … that's the sound I'm looking for.” - Hendrix

I went down a Fillmore rabbit hole on Youtube the other night and what struck me about this Albert King clip is how closely it relates to Jimi's playing. The style reminded me of Hendrix playing Red House at Isle of Wight the same year. I don't know if Hendrix ever referenced him in an interview but the similarity is undeniable, even if AK is playing the guitar upside down!
