The possibilities are, quite literally, endless - sitting on the couch with CSN, hanging with ELP on Love Beach, strumming guitar behind The Three Tenors, holding a pair of headphones over one ear and doing the "screaming chorus face" into the mic during the Kind Of Blue sessions, bellowing into a megaphone with Rudy Vallee, the fourth Andrews Sister - why limit it to music? Give the guy some room to stretch out. Putting him in the plane flying over Cary Grant in North By Northwest would be a good start.

I am sure he/his people justify it by saying he's putting the spotlight on all these great musicians in these different cities. Which is true. But now people will say "I just bought an album by that brass band thing." "Hunh?" "Remember that one Dave Grohl showed on his program." "Oh yeah, they're cool."

"Yeah? So, how is it?"

"Meh. Too much brass. Drowns out the guitar."

First of all, I really like my day job. I got a good fuckin' gig! But I think it's important that someone with the opportunity and resources documents the histories of these people, along with the music, for the next generation.

That's so fucking presumptuous. There are TONS of people out there documenting this stuff. E.g., if you want to know about brass bands, what''s a more reliable source - this, or Grohl, who admittedly knew nothing about the genre when filming began?
