I take it he's for it? That surprises me.

Methinks you fellows wouldn't have such a problem with the concept of books were you able to tear yourselves away from the tube on occasion. Flip through a few pages now and again and you might even learn something. In your case though I could be expecting too much.

:P

BTW Snarfyguy, how's your old dance partner Rich from Classicrockforums doing? I noticed you came over here to find some like minded individuals shortly after he was banned.

How about I call you a carbuncle on the scrotum of stupidity then and we'll call it even?

I can understand being a fan of any band more than I can understand sympathizing with any political position they may happen to hold. Like I say "Just shut up and play son."

Isn't that the very definition of oxymoron? Because otherwise Stalin and Pol Pot must have been great socialists then.

Be a lot more sporting if the hunters were allowed to shoot each other methinks. You don't often find lawmakers as liberally minded as I am though.

We certainly won't be learning anything new or fresh - anything at all for that matter - from the increasingly inane witterings with which you're now clogging up the board.

Congratulations on the carbuncle/scrotum joke, btw. Much better than the usual "Piss/Fuck off and die" you normally tote out.

Anyone here think that FH's use of the word "fellows" is suspiciously like that of Yellowjacket?

It might just be a Canadian thing. I'm not convinced they are one and the same. I much preferred Yellowjacket.

Yes, when he moved to America he made a big fuss about the fox hunting ban saying how ridiculous it was. He later recanted slightly saying he was dead against it but contrary to appearances it had nothing to do with his relocation.

It seems a bit weird - he is otherwise sound politically, unlike the other rock star fox-botherer Brian Ferry, class traitor lickspittle tory pin up boy.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Interesting. You knew Mrs Waters then?

It sounds like you need to read a book on the deployment of sarcasm and irony within the English language.

I'm glad we both agree that there's nothing to learn from you other fellows in this thread then.

Well then you might try a book.

Excuse me but I was the one who found the cavalier usage of obscenities on this board more than a bit surprising and even unsettling when I first joined. I was derided for being a bit stuffy in that regard. So now I've adapted to the culture of this board, but you're still complaining. Is there no pleasing you Brits?

He's one of the fellows with whom you participated in those interminable Democrat versus Republican arguments.
