I like it, bought it on the same day as Adam Ant's The B Sides EP.

It's a real doozy as a karaoke offering too, very effective - especially as a duet with a member of the waiting staff.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

of course you can hedge your bet! :D

Just a bit of harmless fun (as if you didn't know)

I don't like the tune, and the sentiment, though laudable, smacks of Playschool.

Yes. I enjoyed it enough when it was in heavy rotation on MTV. The sentiment is good and the music matches it so well. And Wonder McCartney duo concept is really interesting, too. The chemistry is there. If the song was good enough for Stevie it must have had something good.

Far from my favorite by either of 'em, but certainly more "good" than "bad." I wouldn't select it, but I wouldn't change the dial if it came up on the radio,

That's Playaway.

Sneelock mentioned it "stunks" - nobody want to put him on the spot?

Earnest 80's pop is really hip at the moment (see Future Islands thread) -- the time is ripe for McCartney and Wonder to join forces again and tour. Wonder on synthesizers (bank of) and McCartney on fretless bass. I'd go.

I'm afraid I think the song sucks AND the sentiment sucks. I mean I'm as much against racism and discrimination as the next person but for Chrissakes people are NOT the same wherever you go, Paul. They're all different. That's the point. Just because they're different doesn't mean they should be discriminated against. I don't want to live in some homogenised beige world where people are the same wherever I go!
