WP Willie Nelson - Band Of Brothers (Sony/Legacy) lp

NP Stephen Stills/Manassas (Atlantic) lp

Two greats. One burned out quickly, the other soared over time.

NP Grant Green - Grantstand (Blue Note)
With Yusef Lateef, Jack McDuff and Al Harewood.

What a band and a nice step up from merely greasy organ trio/Qt. jazz from the 60s. McDuff keeps things grounded while Lateef takes us into the stratosphere and Green keeps everybody happy and grooving with his single note runs. Al Harewood is a superb drummer for this music and no doubt got the job based on his previous experience with GG and this style of jazz.

Haruomi Hosono’s ‘Watering a Flower’ - oddly calming.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Just got the Ghedalia Tazartes 4CD boxset, Les Danseurs De La Pluie, and so I'm going through the madness in chronological order.

NP Bonnie Raitt - WMMR Feb 2, 1972 live in studio broadcast

The drummerless group is playing in front of a small (50) audience featuring Freebo, her right hand man back on n the early days. This is around the time of her first album. Nice version of Blindfaith's Can't Find My Way Home.

Listening to this for perhaps the first time since I got it over ten years ago. It's the kind of thing that can wear thin quickly, but it's not bad. A little thrashier and noisier would have been better.
