Have been playing Puff the Magic Dragon regularly since Friday for slightly sentimental reasons.

From the sleeve note "We do things from our conscious mind or we do them from the space. The conscious mind is small and fearful. From the space, we are in the moment, content with what is. From the space we make decisions without doubt, ..." Think he's talking about being in what I would call the flow. Anyway, first play through was very satisfying & think there's a lot more to listen to.

A very satisfying, relaxing session with many masters playing, also quite possibly in 'the space'. Pretty much blues based, a lot of swing.

The Chicago Blackhawks made a great choice for their "goal song" .. I miss sports.

St. Matthew Passion
The narrative bits are a little tiresome but the rest is stunning.

UNWOUND Challenge for a Civilized Society
My favorite noisy indie band from whenever it was. This was where they started to go prog. Bless 'em.

Ha ha! Me too. I've played it a few times in the last two days but I can't decide whether I really like it or not. A few of the songs grab me with an interesting twist and then go straight back to being a bit ordinary.

What do you think of it?

That was my first listen and it's good but nothing really grabbed me.
I'll stick with it as I'm fond of her songs.

It has a late in the evening listening vibe to it so perhaps I'll try it again then.

The Hacienda Brothers - What's Wrong With Right? (Proper)

I loved these guys. I saw one of their early gigs before the first album was released and many times afterwards. It was such a sad day to lose Chris Gaffney to cancer. He was too important to the sound of the band for it to survive wihout him. They do a fine cover of Cowboys To Girls. Check it out Baron. It's pretty good.

Have and enjoy their first and third albums, trying the second now. Just onto the fourth song, hasn't yet grabbed my interest in the way that the others did.
